Providing services for airlines worldwide, monitoring cosmic radiation for their aircrew
Global Aviation Data
Global Aviation Data provides a service for many airlines worldwide, monitoring cosmic radiation for their aircrew.
The GlobaLog system makes it possible and easy for the aircrew and the crew administration to monitor a crewmember approaching a limit at any time during the last 365 days or if a female crewmember has declared pregnancy.
Medical research has documented a significant correlation between overexposure to cosmic radiation and certain types of cancer.
Pregnant:
Cosmic radiation can cause damage to the genetic material of an unborn child. Medical experts recommend that women receive only a minimal dose of cosmic radiation during pregnancy. The GlobaLog system has a special customized procedure for early warnings to pregnant crew members caring for the health and development of an unborn child.
Flight and Air crew members:
The dose of radiation at the cruising altitude of jetliners is between 200 and 400 times greater than at sea level. Radiation doses received by flight and air crew are often greater than those received by radiation workers in the heavily regulated nuclear industry. Medical research has documented a significant correlation between overexposure to cosmic radiation and certain types of cancer – including Leukaemia, breast and skin cancer.
